Punching
Punching is the process of using a hardened tool called a punch to force material through a die in order to remove it from the sheet. A turret punch holds an assortment of tool shapes and can change them automatically to process complex parts. These machines also have auto-indexing capabilities that make it able to rotate the tool to any possible angle.

In terms of cost, CNC turret punching is one of the most economical production methods available. With load/unload capabilities the machine is able to run unattended and lights out. CNC turret punching has the possibility of creating burrs but these are easily removed during finishing operations.

Turret punching is also very flexible when it comes to material processing. Various types of materials can be processed including steel, aluminum, copper, and even some types of soft plastic.
