Milling
Milling is the process of using a machine tool to shape metal or some other material. Milling involves moving the work piece toward a rotating cutter in order to cut parts on their sides as well as the top. Part and cutter movement is precisely controlled to less than .001 inches. Mills can be operated manually for low production or prototype work but can also be controlled by a computer.

CNC mills allow for automatic tool changes and automatic control of the vertical Z-axis. With the use of cutting fluid the part remains cool even though this process naturally creates a great deal of heat. Milling in general offers the highest degree of precision.
